Everyone searches for how to get ‘the most bang out of your
buck’ to make sure their investment is worthwhile. Getting your product
certified is no different. It takes time and money, and while there are
multiple advantages to having the Certification Mark, you may wonder what you
can do to maximize your investment. NTA has a few suggestions to help reap
additional benefits from your certified product.
First, make sure you let potential buyers know your product
is certified. Knowing your product has been tested, and verified as being code
compliant, as well as knowing you participate in an ongoing quality program,
can raise you above another product that doesn’t have that reassurance of compliance
and quality.
Another place to find added value, is to locate other
countries or areas that require the same certifications. You can increase your
sales reach of your certified product by branching out into new locations and
markets.
Finally, make sure you follow up with periodic quality
audits. A continuous series of successful audits will assure your certification
remains valid. If you are found to be non-compliant after initial
certification, it could cost you extra to re-certify through the additional
inspections and testing that could be required.
NTA is
accredited by the International Accreditation Service (IAS) under ISO/IEC 17025 to test,
under ISO/IEC 17020 to inspect and under ISO/IES Guide 65 to certify a variety
of building products. If you have any questions about NTA’s
certification programs, please contact
