Unique Home Needs High Wind Calculations

When one couple decided it was time it was time to build their own home, they asked Affinity Building Systems to design it based on the photo on the left. NTA’s Engineering department provided the High Wind Calculations necessary to ensure a long-lasting, happy home in the South Georgia climate. Along with the calculations, NTA’s CAD department provided the drawings for the builder and Affinity.

Many regions have their own unique climatic challenges, and these are often referenced in federal and local building codes. High wind areas, seismic zones, snow load regions and flood requirements all require engineering calculations for code compliance. This does not mean homes in those locations cannot be beautiful and durable – with modern engineering calculations few areas are beyond reach of builders such as Affinity.
